Donald Trump has confirmed the death of the Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
"Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead," he said in a post on Truth Social.
The US President said Khamenei "was unable to avoid" US intelligence and tracking systems, and "there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do".
