A fire tore through a historic courthouse in Rome, Georgia on March 23, sending heavy smoke into the sky and engulfing the building’s clock tower before part of the structure collapsed. The courthouse, built in 1892, was evacuated after the blaze was discovered, with all employees safely exiting. Officials said the building was under renovation at the time, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
