A Russian strike hit a kindergarten in the Ukrainian city of Sumy on May 6, killing one person and injuring two others, according to local officials. Footage released by Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne shows emergency services responding to the scene and a person being carried from the burning building.
The attack occurred shortly after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans for a ceasefire from midnight on May 6, ahead of Russia’s proposed truce for Victory in Europe Day.
