Summary of Coverage: After the reign of Solomon, his arrogant son Rehoboam caused a civil war that divided the nation. To keep his northern citizens from traveling to Jerusalem, the wicked King Jeroboam set up two "golden calves" in Dan and Bethel as convenient, visible idols. As a result, the true, Bible-believing people migrated south to Judah to be where the Word of God was. We will explore how this mirrors our modern world, where faithful believers are migrating away from "golden calf" churches that cater to materialism, seeking instead congregations that stand firmly on the Gospel.
2. The Center of the Map and God’s Countdown Clock
Scripture References: 1 Kings 11:13.
Summary of Coverage: Who really has the right to Jerusalem? While the United Nations and world governments constantly debate its status, God explicitly declared in 1 Kings 11:13 that Jerusalem is the city He has chosen. Ancient cartographers actually drew world maps with Jerusalem at the exact center. We will look at why Jerusalem acts as God’s prophetic "timepiece"—a ticking countdown clock tracking the final events of human history.
3. The Blessing and the Blood-Stained Return
Scripture References: Acts 1; 2 Thessalonians 1:7.
Summary of Coverage: There is a massive difference between how Jesus left the earth and how He will return to it. When Jesus ascended in Acts 1, He left pronouncing a blessing, and He was only seen by the eyes of believers. However, His Second Coming to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem will be completely different. We will see how He will return in "flaming fire" to take vengeance on the world, His garments stained with blood from trampling His enemies, causing an earthquake and unnatural darkness. Jerusalem is the dramatic backdrop for the end of the world.
