Residents waded through knee-deep water as heavy rains triggered severe flooding in the Hat Yai district in southern Thailand, on November 22. Homes and vehicles were left stranded in the rising waters.
Hat Yai authorities declared a severe flood emergency, issuing a “red flag” evacuation order for 103 communities. Officials warned residents to seek higher ground immediately, as three days of rain brought a total of 595 mm of precipitation.
