Less than five days after the US announced a 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon, Israel has reportedly violated the truce multiple times, targeting a mosque, a state school, a shrine, a cemetery, and several homes, according to Lebanese media.
In retaliation, Lebanon’s Hezbollah group said Tuesday that it targeted northern Israel for the first time since a ceasefire took effect last Friday, adding that Israeli violations have now “exceeded 200 breaches” in four days.
The Israeli army carried out an airstrike on the Sheikh Ragheb Harb Mosque in the town of Jibchit in southern Lebanon on Tuesday. The mosque sustained heavy damage in the attack.
L’Orient Today reports that the Israeli army also dynamited the Abu Zirr shrine and the village’s martyrs’ cemetery in the city of Rshaf.
Earlier this week, the Israeli army also destroyed a public school building—the Martyrs Public Vocational School—in the southern Lebanese town of Khiam using explosives, completely leveling the structure, Lebanese media reported on Tuesday.
