The GOP are ahead in the redistricting war, but it may backfire nationally. MS NOW Elections Director Kabir Khanna says Republicans drawing out Democratic districts will, “add fuel to the fire in terms of engaging people and driving turnout,” when midterms usually have lower turnout. “There were in 2024 over 9 million skippers on the Democratic side in battleground states, not just southern states, but battleground states,” says Democratic pollster Celinda Lake. “Those voters are coming out.”
