A 10-year-old boy rescued from powerful surf off California’s Seabright Beach is thanking the teenage lifeguard credited with saving his life. Nathaniel Rai was swept into the ocean Saturday after losing his footing in shallow water as large waves crashed ashore. Sixteen-year-old lifeguard Ryder Williams quickly responded, pulling the boy to safety in a dramatic rescue captured on video that has since gone viral. Nathaniel’s father said the teen’s quick actions likely saved his son’s life, while Nathaniel said he is grateful to the lifeguard who held onto him until he was safe.
