An Israeli air strike hit the historic Abu Salim Mosque in central Gaza’s Deir al Balah on August 24, heavily damaging the building and destroying much of the mosque. Footage captured the moment of the strike, with a large plume of smoke rising over the area as Palestinians evacuated and debris covered nearby streets and market stalls. The strike came a day after two Palestinians, including a child, were injured in another Israeli strike on Deir al Balah, despite a ceasefire in place since October 10, 2025.
