Imagine holding a box of hard-earned savings through a world war, only to discover your money became worthless overnight. In the gripping class "How To Not Lose Eternal Rewards Sacrificial Financial Generosity", John Barnett shares the tragic historical account of a German mother in 1948 who tried to donate her life’s savings to a Bible school—only to learn she had held her money "one day too long" because the government had just canceled the currency. This illustrates a staggering spiritual truth: a final, global devaluation is coming where all earthly houses, cars, stocks, and assets will be permanently burned up.
The Alchemy of Transmutation
But you don’t have to lose your investments. Barnett unpacks Jesus’s sermon in Matthew 6 to show how we can "transmute" passing earthly resources into eternal heavenly treasures that can never be devalued, ruined, or stolen. We cannot take our earthly assets with us, but we can send them ahead.
The Widow’s Two-Mite Masterclass
God doesn’t measure our giving by the amount we write on a check; He measures it by what we keep for ourselves. Barnett highlights the poor widow who dropped two tiny mites into the temple treasury. Though virtually invisible to everyone else, Jesus noticed her because she gave out of her poverty—costing her everything.
Shifting Your Heart’s Gravity
Because your heart naturally follows your treasure, the only way to break free from earthly anxiety and have a heavenward look is to anchor your assets in heaven. Watch this class to stop building "strong nests" on a crumbling planet and start investing in what lasts forever.
