Sky’s Dan Whitehead said police faced a challenge as scuffles broke out and around 100 anti-migration demonstrators "splintered off" to chase counter-protesters through the streets.
Reporting from the scene, he said both groups gathered outside the Guildhall in the city "chanting for a couple of hours".
