A federal judge berated the Trump administration for cutting down more than 400 trees at East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D.C., over the weekend without proper notice. U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes said lawyers for the government previously assured her the Trump administration would give sufficient notice if it planned any irreversible actions at the golf course. An attorney for the government said it gave notice in a court filing late Friday evening — ahead of the three-day holiday weekend — with work beginning Saturday morning. MS NOW legal affairs reporter Fallon Gallagher joins Morning Joe with more on the judge’s reaction, and New York Times opinion columnist David French joins the panel with analysis, and explains why he says the actions set a ‘dangerous precedent.’
