Foreign Official RUSHES To Defend Ilhan Omar As Case EXPLODES
The Ilhan Omar investigation just took a bizarre international turn. Newsmax chief Washington correspondent James Rosen reports that the immigration probe originated inside Homeland Security Investigations’ Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Unit, with investigators examining whether Omar’s late father omitted or misrepresented details about his military service when the family entered the United States. The report also says authorities are looking at Omar’s alleged use of aliases and the longstanding claims surrounding her former marriage. But there is one critical distinction: a source close to the case reportedly denies that Omar’s father is himself the subject of an active war-crimes investigation. The unit’s involvement adds serious new context—it does not prove a war crime, immigration fraud or any other offense.
Now Somalia’s defence minister, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, has publicly jumped into the fight. He urged Somali Americans—including Trump supporters—to stand behind Omar, called her “one of our own” and argued that she is being targeted because she is Somali. Meanwhile, a pro-Somaliland social-media account is circulating competing allegations about the family, but it is not an official government account and its claims remain unverified. Omar says the search of her home was political weaponization, insists she did nothing wrong and has not been charged. We examine what this new reporting actually establishes, why a foreign cabinet official is intervening and where the serious federal investigation ends and the viral claims begin.
