    Thousands of tomatoes are laid out to dry under the sun in southeastern Türkiye’s Diyarbakir province every summer before being exported abroad, where they are used to make sauces for pizzas and other dishes.

    Seasonal workers pick, cut and salt the fruit in temperatures often above 40°C, describing the work as their main source of income.
